1. Purpose and scope
HAZO WORLD PTY LTD (HAZO, we, us or our) respects the privacy of customers, prospective customers, installers, builders, suppliers and website visitors.
This Policy explains how HAZO collects, holds, uses and discloses personal information in connection with:
- the HAZO WORLD website and product configurators;
- HAZO Projects, quote and catalogue requests;
- Technical Review, Formal Quotes and Formal Orders;
- delivery, warranty and customer support;
- an Order Portal or other account service when made available; and
- telephone, email and other business communications.
HAZO intends to manage personal information transparently and consistently with applicable Australian privacy requirements. This Policy does not create a right that does not otherwise exist, but HAZO will apply the practices described here unless a different lawful requirement applies.
2. Personal information we may collect
The information collected depends on the Customer’s interaction with HAZO and may include:
Identity and contact information
- name, email address, telephone number and postcode;
- delivery or project address and receiving contact;
- company name, role and ABN where relevant; and
- authorised installer, builder, electrician or other project contact.
Project and product information
- customer type, intended use and selected product;
- configuration, dimensions, colours, fabric, operation, components, options and quantity;
- site descriptions, access information and known constraints;
- messages, questions, Technical Review records and requested changes; and
- photographs, marked-up images, plans, drawings or supporting files that a Customer chooses to send to HAZO.
Quote, order and support information
- quote, invoice and order references;
- payment status, amount and transaction reference needed to reconcile a payment;
- production, quality, dispatch, delivery and Portal-stage records;
- warranty claim details, installation information, photographs, videos and assessment records; and
- communications and complaint-resolution records.
HAZO should not request full payment-card details through ordinary website forms or email. If a third-party payment service is later offered, its identity and handling practices must be added to this Policy before use.
Website and device information
- IP address, browser and device type, approximate location, requested pages, referral source and interaction events;
- cookie or browser-storage choices;
- security and anti-spam signals processed by reCAPTCHA; and
- configuration and HAZO Project data saved in the current browser.
HAZO does not intentionally collect sensitive information unless it is reasonably necessary, lawfully permitted and clearly explained at the time.
3. How we collect information
HAZO usually collects personal information directly when a person:
- uses a configurator or creates a HAZO Project;
- submits a quote or catalogue request;
- contacts HAZO by phone, email or another approved channel;
- accepts a Formal Quote, pays for an order or receives Goods;
- uses an Order Portal; or
- requests warranty, return or technical support.
HAZO may also receive information from a person authorised by the Customer, such as an installer, builder, employee, delivery contact or professional adviser. If a person gives HAZO another individual’s information, they should have authority to do so and should tell that individual about this Policy where appropriate.
4. Browser-local HAZO Projects
Before submission, the current website normally saves product configurations, HAZO Project drafts and related references in localStorage in the current browser on the current device.
This means:
- the draft is not automatically sent to HAZO merely because it has been created or saved;
- it may not appear in another browser or on another device;
- it may be lost if browser data is cleared; and
- a saved reference is not a submitted enquiry, Formal Quote, Formal Order, payment confirmation or production record.
When a user chooses an identified submission action, the information shown in the form is sent to HAZO. A Product Enquiry sends the customer and enquiry details only. A Formal Quote Request additionally sends the saved product configurations, selected options, estimated prices and review notes shown for submission.
5. Why HAZO uses personal information
HAZO may use personal information to:
- answer enquiries and provide catalogues or product information;
- save and display browser-local product configurations;
- understand a project and carry out Technical Review;
- prepare, revise and administer Formal Quotes;
- verify payments and create Formal Orders;
- source components, manufacture, quality-check and supply the approved Goods;
- plan freight, contact receiving parties and track delivery stages;
- provide product, warranty and complaint support;
- maintain safety, security, fraud-prevention, accounting and legal records;
- operate, measure and improve the website and customer process; and
- send relevant marketing where consent has been given or Australian law otherwise permits it.
HAZO will not sell personal information. HAZO should not use detailed plans, site images or customer project information in marketing or public case studies without separate permission.
6. Who HAZO may disclose information to
HAZO may disclose only the information reasonably required to:
- employees and authorised contractors who support the relevant project;
- component suppliers and manufacturing partners;
- freight, logistics, depot, storage and delivery providers;
- website hosting, CRM, email, cloud storage, security, analytics and communication providers;
- professional advisers, insurers, auditors and dispute-resolution providers; and
- regulators, law-enforcement bodies or other recipients where disclosure is required or authorised by law.
HAZO remains responsible for selecting service providers appropriate to the information and for limiting disclosure to a genuine business purpose.
7. Current website service providers
The current website intake process uses the following services:
- HAZO’s hosted website intake endpoint to validate and securely forward Product Enquiries, Formal Quote Requests and catalogue requests;
- Google Apps Script, Google Drive, Google Sheets and Google email services to create internal records, store submitted data and PDFs, and notify authorised HAZO personnel;
- Google reCAPTCHA to protect forms from spam and abuse;
- Google Analytics to measure website use after the visitor grants the relevant cookie/storage consent; and
- YouTube privacy-enhanced mode (
youtube-nocookie.com) when a visitor chooses to play the embedded factory video.
These providers have their own privacy practices and may process technical and form information on infrastructure outside Australia. HAZO should maintain a current vendor register and link to the relevant provider notices in the final website policy or cookie notice.
8. Overseas disclosures
Personal information may be disclosed to recipients in China for manufacturing and supply purposes, and may be processed in the United States and other countries in which HAZO’s technology providers operate.
HAZO will take reasonable steps required by applicable Australian privacy law and contractual arrangements before an overseas disclosure and will limit the information disclosed to what is reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose. HAZO does not promise that all personal information is stored only in Australia.
9. Cookies, analytics and browser storage
The website uses browser storage that is necessary to:
- retain a HAZO Project or configuration on the current device;
- remember the visitor’s cookie choices; and
- support website security and form operation.
Optional analytics and advertising storage should remain denied by default and be enabled only after the visitor makes the relevant choice. A visitor may decline optional analytics without losing access to general website content, although necessary storage and security functions may still operate.
Visitors can clear cookies and local storage through their browser settings. Doing so may delete saved configurations and HAZO Projects on that device.
Google reCAPTCHA is a security service and may process device and interaction data when a protected form loads or is used. The website should explain this near the form and link to the relevant Google terms.
The YouTube player should load only when the visitor chooses to play the video. Even in privacy-enhanced mode, YouTube may process device and usage information after playback begins.
10. Direct marketing
HAZO may send product news, reminders or offers where the recipient has consented or where the communication is otherwise permitted by law. Every marketing email should provide a working unsubscribe method.
A person may opt out at any time by using the unsubscribe link or contacting HAZO. HAZO may still send non-marketing messages needed to answer an enquiry, administer a quote or order, provide a safety notice or meet a legal obligation.
11. Security
HAZO will take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Measures should include access controls, multi-factor authentication where available, staff role restrictions, secure backups, provider review and a response process for suspected data breaches.
No internet or storage system is completely secure. Customers should not send passwords, full card details or unnecessary identity documents through ordinary email or open text fields.
If HAZO becomes aware of a suspected eligible data breach, it will assess and respond in accordance with applicable Australian requirements, including notification where required.
12. Retention and deletion
HAZO retains information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose collected, customer support, warranty administration and legal, tax, accounting, insurance, security or dispute requirements.
| Record type | Retention approach |
|---|---|
| Unsuccessful general enquiry or catalogue request | At about 6 months after the last meaningful contact, HAZO will ordinarily review the record for deletion or de-identification. It may be kept longer where reasonably needed for a complaint, security, legal hold, consented marketing, duplicate-enquiry control or another lawful purpose. |
| Formal Quote, Formal Order, invoice, payment and delivery record | Normally 7 years after the relevant financial year, or longer where legally required. |
| Product configuration, approval, production and warranty record for supplied Goods | For the applicable warranty and support period, and longer where reasonably needed for legal, insurance or dispute purposes. |
| Warranty or complaint file | Normally 7 years after closure, subject to longer legal, insurance or dispute needs. |
| Marketing contact | Until opt-out, invalid address or the end of the relevant lawful purpose. |
| Browser-local HAZO Project | Controlled by the user through that browser; HAZO cannot delete a draft it never received. |
When information is no longer required, HAZO will take reasonable steps to delete it or de-identify it, subject to lawful holds, system backups and disaster-recovery copies. Backup copies may persist until they are overwritten through the ordinary backup cycle.
13. Access and correction
A person may ask for access to personal information HAZO holds about them or request correction of information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading.
Requests should be sent to Info@hazoworld.com with enough information to identify the person and relevant record. HAZO may take reasonable steps to verify identity and may refuse or limit access where permitted by law. HAZO will respond within a reasonable period and, where access or correction is lawfully refused, explain the reason and available complaint steps unless the law prevents that explanation.
14. Privacy complaints
A privacy complaint should include the person’s contact details, what happened, relevant dates and the outcome sought. Send it to:

HAZO will review and respond within a reasonable period. If the complaint is not resolved, the person may be able to contact the OAIC privacy complaints information.
15. Children
HAZO’s products and quoting services are intended for adults and businesses. HAZO does not knowingly seek personal information directly from children. A parent or guardian who believes a child has submitted personal information should contact HAZO.
16. External links
The website may link to third-party sites. HAZO does not control their privacy practices. Visitors should review the policy of the external site before providing information.
17. Changes to this Policy
HAZO may update this Policy when its website, providers, customer process or legal obligations change. The current version and effective date will be published on the website. A material change should be clearly communicated where appropriate.
